I updated my CWGTV-4K to Android 12 last week. Since the update, turning off the Chromecast does NOT turn off the video projector like it did before the update.
Setup : CWGTC plugged into the HDMI input of a Samsung Sound Bar, HDMI output of the Sound Bar connected to HDMI Input of an Optoma projector. HDMI-CEC enabled on CWGTV and on Optoma,
Pressing "home" on the Chromecast remote turns on the Sound Bar and turns on the Projector.
Pressing "off" on the Chromecast remote turns off the Sound Bar but the Projector stays on. (Projector turned off before the Android 12 update)
Restarting all devices did not fix anything. Toggling HDMI-CEC on the CWGTV did not fix anything.
However setting up the "OFF" button on the remote in the CWGTV settings to "Chromecast only" did turn off the projector.... Bug in the updated HDMI-CEC service?

Hi RichP,
That certainly hasn't been easy for you ― apologies for the delayed response. Let's take a look at this.
Your Chromecast with Google TV (4k), is plugged into the HDMI input of your Samsung soundbar and the Samsung soundbar is plugged into the HDMI of your Optoma projector, right? And it was all working before the update to Android 12 happened, right? Also, how about via voice command using the Google Assistant on your Chromecast voice remote, does it work? Would you mind connecting your CCwGTV(4k) directly to your Optoma projector if possible. Let's see if it will have the same behavior.
Tell me how it goes.
Best,
Dan

Hi
Thanks for the reply.
Yes your understanding of my setup is correct.
The behavior is the same when Chromecast is plugged into the HDMI input of the projector, bypassing the soundbar. It is also the same through the voice assistant or the Remote's Off button. The Remote's FW is version 26.
It does really look like "CEC automatic" and "chromecast only" (in the remote settings) have swapped their behavior after the Android 12 update.
Strange that others are not complaining about this either...

Hello again,
I apologize for the late response.
I know this must be trouble for you but we must do a factory reset on your CWGTV-4K to revert it back to its default and original settings. Doing so means you need to set it back up to your Google Home app. Since everything was working before updating to Android 12, let’s do everything possible to find something and/or to solve this concern of yours. Click this link for the factory reset.
Keep me posted.
Best,
Dan

hi Dan
Since the current setup kind-of works with the wrong settings, I must admit that I'm not in a hurry to hard reset the device. I'll probably do it in the next couple of weeks. I'll let you know.
Thanks,
Richard
