I have learnt to cast content from my phone , eg. BBC iplayer, but when I try to mirror local content eg. home videos , only sound appears on tv, no picture. The Google Home app on my phone shows sound at 100% but no mention of picture. Hovever, I can mirror pictures quite easily from my chromebook, but only from the chrome browser, so I'm guessing there's nothing wrong with my TV. On my phone I also get the mesage... 'This device is not optimised....' My phone is running android 10.

Hey there Eddie4,
When screen mirroring from an Android device, there are a few settings we have to make sure are enabled/disabled for a smooth experience. Here is the list:
To discover Cast-enabled devices, go to open their mobile device's Settings enable Use network information Continue.
Important: The Microphone permission in the Google Play Services app needs to be turned on to successfully use the Cast screen or audio feature with Chromecast. If you don't have this permission turned on, the Cast screen session immediately disconnects after it attempts to connect.
To turn on Microphone permissions:
Give those a try, and let me know if you still have issues.
Best regards,
Jeran

Thanks Dan_A and Jeran for replying to my post. I have done all that you ask but still can't mirror picture. This extra info might give you more insight: my phone is a Nokia 1 which runs Google Go edition. I also see this message before I try to mirror - 'Your device is not optimised for screen mirroring...', however I aslo see this same message on my chromebook and although I can't mirror from the Home app on chromebook I can mirror both sound and picture from the chrome browser.
Is it a common problem for phones running Google Go to encounter this problem?

Hey there Eddie4,
No problem at all! I'll look into Google Go and see if there are any casting issues associated with it. Would you also try out the troubleshooting listed in this article and let us know if that helps?
Best regards,
Jeran

Hey there Eddie4,
That's no good to hear. This may need to be something you speak with Chromecast Support about. If you don't mind, would you be able to fill out this form to have Chromecast Support reach out to you? Please let me know if you do so.
Best regards,
Jeran
