Hey there moly202020,

I apologize about the late response, thank you for being patient! Were you able to fix that storage issue? If not, I'd be happy to help out, as I know the storage on these things can fill up rather quickly. Let me just ask you some questions about what's happening:

  • What is the firmware version of the Chromecast?
  • What external storage are you using?
  • How much storage do you have left on the original device?
  • Are you able to load apps off of the external storage correctly?
  • What troubleshooting steps have you already tried?

I look forward to your response, and if you have any other questions or concerns for me, please let me know!

Best regards,
Jeran

Hi Jeran,

Thank you for your reply, please find my answers below:

  • What is the firmware version of the Chromecast?--QTS1.210311.036.781473
  • What external storage are you using? Ankor 7in1 USB hub with ScanDisk USB 60GB
  • How much storage do you have left on the original device? At the moment the internal storage 1.4GB - external storage 56GB
  • Are you able to load apps off of the external storage correctly? Yes, right
  • What troubleshooting steps have you already tried? I have reviewed that all apps are using the external storage.

P.S:-I have discovered the apps installed on the internal storage and only thier data moved on the external storage, that's why the internal storage increased when i trying to install apps.

I am wondering that i have invested on 60GB storage plus Ankor USB hub more than Google Chromecast TV and i can't take the benefits of installing all apps/android tv games i want as this limitations.

Thank you for your support in advance.

BR,

Waseem Emam

Hey moly202020,

I'm sorry about the late reply again, the forum was a bit backed up, but the responses should be coming out much faster now. Anyway, did you already Force allow apps on external using the Developer options? If not, make sure developer options are enabled by going to Settings > System > About and selecting Android TV OS build 7 times to turn those on. Then, Go to Settings > System > Developer options, and look for Force allow apps on external. From there, you can look at the Erase & format as device storage setting is the drive isn't formatted already.

Finally, Go to Settings > Apps > See all apps, select the app you wish to move and select Storage used, and change it to the correct drive.

Let me know if that works out for you!

Best regards,

Jeran
