JBL Link Portable no aparece EQ (bajos y agudos)

Hola!

Hi! I'm using a JBL Link Portable with a built in Google Assistant and Chromecast, and at first I could toggle the EQ on the device, tab but a few days ago the option disappeared from the app. Now i can't EQ the sound (bass and treble). Any ideas why this is happening and how I can fix the problem?

it got removed at google's server side after some idiots put bass and volume to max. as soon as the speaker firmware updates after using the new product the eq will disappear

jbl blames google and google blames jbl

there is no fix. you cannot adjust your eq and you never will

really sucks 😞 it is the same with sonos and speaker groups: google will cripple all the people who make better products

the only way to get it back it to get a new jbl link portable and block it from updating using your router 😞

Hi Josu,

Thanks for reaching out. What's your Google Home app version? Are you trying to control or configure the equalizer for your entire speaker group? If yes, I'm afraid that option is no longer available but you can still control the volume and equalizer settings for each speaker in a group individually using the Google Home app, a display device, or Assistant voice command.

If the option to control the equalizer setting is still unable in your Google Home app for your JBL speaker, please be informed that the Google Home App 2.53 update has already begun rolling out to customers. The updated app will be available to customers over the next few days, so you may not see it right away. This should be fixed under this version of the Google Home app.

Additionally, you may try to reach out to your speaker's manufacturer to check for firmware updates on your device.

eighty666, we're always looking for ways and we'll take this as feedback. We'll learn from this to deliver a better process and experience in the future — we appreciate your feedback.

Regards,

Jennifer

Hi JenniferV,

My Google Home app version is 2.53.1.5. I’m only trying to control the EQ for the JBL Link Portable speaker, but it´s still not available.

@JBLaudio told me that the EQ option on the JBL Link Portable was removed in the latest software update. Why the EQ was removed for the JBL Link Portable? How I can EQ the speaker now? Can you tell me when it’s going to be available an updated app of Google Home that would fix this problem.

Hi Josu,

Thanks for getting back to us. I'm afraid I don't have info about that as the device manufacturer is the ones that are releasing the firmware updates on their devices. You can also send feedback about this using the Google Home app. Here's how. Every bit of feedback and logs on the subject helps a ton.

Thanks,

Jennifer

I still have the same questions an concerns. I can't EQ my JBL Link Portable speaker with Chromecast built in. I still don't have an answer for this. I have also sent feedback about this problem to Google, but I have no response, and the recent update didn´t fix the problem.

Why the EQ was removed for the JBL Link Portable? How I can EQ the speaker now? Can you tell me when it’s going to be available an updated app of Google Home that would fix this problem.

it's not been removed from the device it's just been manually switched off at google's side of things

it's just a money thing... a bunch of idiots set their jbl speakers to max bass and max volume, blew them up, and now nobody is permitted to even turn the bass down

it's a horrible attitude from both companies working against each other

if the jbl worked as advertised, nobody in their right mind would buy a nest-branded product. so it gets deliberately crippled with reminders that don't stay lit and a bad factory EQ

Hi Josu,

The Google Engineering team will not respond directly back to you, however sending feedback is the best way to let them know about issues with the products or if the users wants to add a particular feature for the devices.

To answer your question about why the EQ was removed for JBL speakers, based on the JBL's response to you, the issue started when they released the latest software for the JBL devices. Since they are the ones who released the update to their devices, we cannot control the settings that will be affected.

As for the Google Home app, I have no information to share about when the next update will be for it or if the update will fix the issue with JBL speakers not able to see the option to control the Equalizer settings since this will still depend on the third-party device manufacturer.

Thanks,

Jennifer

the things jennifer says are a lie. they are not true. this is an inaccurate account of past events

google switched it off. jbl have publicly said this.

Hi Josu,

Thanks for posting. It looks like this issue is the same to this thread that you also created.  I'll duplicate this one and let's continue from there.

Please be advised that this thread will be locked automatically once duplicated in the main one.

why do you all act like thousands of unhappy users haven't told you about this before?
