Jordan Time Zone Incorrect

mzabaneh
Community Member

The time displayed for Jordan is incorrect. When asking Google for the time, it is correct, but the time displayed on the TV ambient mode screen, and on my Google nest hub is incorrect.

Jordan is in GMT+3 and not GMT+2.

(Jordan decided to not change their clocks back an hour in Autumn, which might not be correctly updated everywhere)

Can this please be fixed internally in Google?

Hello,

I am not able to change the timezones. I can't see Time Section in the device settings. I am not able to select a new time zone as the time displayed for Amman, Jordan right now isn't correct. It is displaying GMT+2 but time in Amman is currently GMT+3.

I hope this can be updated in Google settings!

@mzabaneh

Google Nest does not provide an option to set our own timezones. Rather, it gets the timezone for our address from some Google database. That database has various errors in it for some customers around the world. However, Google Nest does not acknowledge this, and furthermore does not provide any mechanism for correcting such errors. There have been many postings from customers in this forum, but none of them ever seem to get resolved.  In some postings, Google Nest suggests going to the Google Maps community forum to report an error, but nothing seems to get resolved there either.

Hello Jake!

The address is correct on the device. The Google timezone for Jordan is not correct.

Thank you for helping out on this thread, MplsCustomer!

Hey there mzabaneh,

That's no good to hear that the time zone is not properly updating. Would you be able to submit feedback via the Google Home app to let Google know about this? That way, the engineering team would be aware of it and look into getting that corrected.

Thank you for letting us know, and if you have any other questions, please let me know.

Best regards,
Jeran

I will submit the feedback, is there no way for you to also bring back this information to the team?
