MLB.TV - Closed Caption Problem

I have had been using this app for several years, but beginning in June, when I bring up the app, I now have a good part of my TV screen filled with closed captioning dialogue. I have always had (and still do) have closed captioning turned off on the Chromecast and AmazonFireTV devices as well as on all of my TVs. I have to add that this is a problem only with the MLB-TV apps loaded onto my GoogleTV and AmazonFireTV devices (both of which show MLB.TV app version 7.5.0.2). This problem occurs in the MLB.TV app when viewing any MLB game, on any feed, on any TV that I connect the devices to. This problem doesn't appear in the MLB.TV app version 11.6.0.28, which is what the Play Store sends to my Android phone.

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the MLB.TV app on both devices to no avail.  Version 7.5.0.2 is always reinstalled.  Why are the 7.5.0.2 versions not being updated?

I have reported this problem on both the Google Play site and on the MLB.TV site but it doesn't seem like the developers have any interest in resolving this problem.

An Amazon Fire TV support person kindly supplied me with the solution.

While streaming the MLB game on the Fire TV Stick 4K, push up on the remote and, when the secondary screen appears, select the CC button to turn it OFF.

I had no idea that that secondary screen was there, but the app behaves the same way with the Chromecast remote.  Strange that an app's CC setting can override the Chromecast remote's CC settings.
