My Chromecast doesn't play video when is synced to a speaker group!

Every time I try casting a video to a group from Goggle Chrome or the YouTube (and YT Music) From any device, the screen on the Chromecast will not play the video, instead will show the a box in the corner with the name of the song.

I want to listen to the sound on the rest of the speakers across the home and also see the video play on the Chromecast.

The background options for the Chromecast are poor and sometimes too bright or too dark, wish they could be more custom.

That is actually the way it is supposed to work. Speaker Groups ONLY support audio streams.  You cannot play video to them.

Basically, you cannot do what you want to do; play video and use speakers across the house to play the audio.

If you had a Chromecast With Google TV, you could pair ONE Bluetooth speaker with it and play the sound on that.  But only one.

That is simply ridiculous, if you cast from the YouTube music app it lets you listen to the video feed over the speakers, do better Google.

Even the pair 1 Bluetooth device is dated.

Hi Ciscoroth,

Thank you for posting and for the help, @Byteguy . I'm sorry that the speaker group does not work as expected. Help's here.

There is a good article you can check out on how to create and manage speaker groups and do the following: remove the speaker group and create a new one with a title or name; then, cast with your Chromecast.

Let me know if this works.

Regards,

Byron
