No sound in apps except YouTube.

I bought the Chromecast with Google TV. It worked well for a few days. Suddenly I don't get sound from any content in Amazon, Netflix and Disney+. Funnily, the content previews in those apps that auto play when you hover has sound. When I click Play/Resume to watch the content, I don't get any sound. There were no recent updates to my TV or Sound bar. Checked Chromecast is up to date. Restarted, unplugged the entire chain and plugged back in. No dice. What kind of crappy experience is this? I was going to buy an Apple TV but I thought I'd get this instead because of Google assistant. Having severe regrets now.

First, check the remote volume buttons settings. It should be set to control the TV / AV receiver, not the Chromecast volume. If it is set to control Chromecast volume, the surround sound won't work.

Is your Chromecast connected to the TV or to a soundbar or AV receiver?

Mine won't give me sound either I have it plugged into TV and to AV system

LOL. Did you miss the part that I GET sound on previews? That means that TV volume, AV/TV control etc. are working. Also, this was working until 2 days ago. Also, YouTube app works fine without any issues.

On my Chromecast with Google TV all applications work as they supposed to.

Try clearing cache & data and sign out for all applications in question and try again.

If they are still not playing sound, maybe you should wait, a day or two, because sometimes the network or their servers for your country are having problems.

If you consider necessary, hard reset the Chromecast device and reconfigure.

Just want to add a comment before this thread is locked. Don't buy this piece of junk. I still don't have sound. This is a junk device. You get why you paid for.

I'm sorry to hear that the Chromecast with Google TV is giving you such a headache. I'd recommend that you submit feedback via Google TV to let Google know about the issues you are having. For now, I'll go ahead and lock up this thread. If you run into any more issues in the future, feel free to create a new thread.
