Not able to change platform app to view content on google Chromecast in library tab

I have a few contents on the library section of my google Chromecast but I am unable to change the default player for the content.

for eg: I have content in my library section where that content is available on MX player and the Sony LIV, but it is recommending the MX player by default and I am not able to change it to Sony LIV to play the content via the Sony LIV.

also, I do not have the MX player app installed still it is asking to play via MX player, I have a subscription to Sony LIV and not MX player and I do not want to play it via MX player but there is no option to change it.

The only option currently I have is to go to the sony liv app on google Chromecast separately and then play the content. but from the library section, I am not able to select my choice of app to play the content and in that case, the library section is not making any help.

Please guide me if there is an option to toggle the recommended player of our choice on the library tab of google Chromecast, I see that the option is available on the google tv mobile app but not on google Chromecast, if there is please do let me know the step.

Hey there akash2909,

Welcome to the Chromecast Community Forum! At this point in time, I do not think there is a way to change the default player in the library for the Chromecast with Google TV. However, I think this would be a fantastic feature, so if you had the time, would you be able to submit feedback via Google TV? That way, Google would see interest in this feature and may look to implement it one day.

I look forward to your response, and if you have any other questions or concerns for me, please let me know, otherwise, I'll go ahead and lock the thread in 24 hours.

Best regards,
Jeran
