Radio station streaming no longer works when pressing the remote control Assistant button on Chromecast with Google TV and saying "play NPR" or "play <station call letters>". For example, holding the Assistant button on the remote and saying "play NPR" causes the Assistant to respond "Streaming WNYC FM" but nothing actually plays and the screen remains the same.
In the past the Assistant would respond, open a new screen, and then the radio station would start playing. But since a recent software update that functionality is broken.
I tried to fix the issue by doing a factory reset of my Chromecast with Google TV and afterwards radio streaming worked again for a few minutes. But once all the internal system apps updated themselves to the latest versions, radio streaming broke again.
I used this feature all the time and it's very frustrating to lose it.

At some point the issue resolved itself and works fine now. Thank you

Hi kappadappa,
Thanks for reaching out and for being a step ahead of us. To cover all the bases, could you please check if you were able to play it manually on the radio app? Also, please try to command the Google Assistant on your mobile phone and check if the same issue persists.
Thanks,
Jennifer
