Hi I'm having trouble searching, when I use the remote I can't use the keyboard on the TV, no problems with my phone could this be the issue any help would be great thanks

Hi Rayray67,

 

Thanks for reaching out. Could you please confirm if you're also using your phone as a virtual remote? If yes, could you try to remove it and test using the Chromecast Voice Remote? Also, please try to reboot your Chromecast Voice Remote.

Hi Thanks for answering my question I have used the phone as a keyboard but only because I can't use the remote, I've also reset the remote and still can't input anything to the browser any ideas would be great Thanks

Hi Rayray67,

 

Thanks for getting back to us. Please try the steps below to check the keyboard settings:

 

  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Select System.
  3. Select Keyboard.
    • Select Current keyboard and if there's more than one keyboard, select the keyboard to use.
    • You can also select Gboard Settings to switch your language, but it's Use system languages by default. You can choose to turn this setting off in this menu.
    • You can also select Manage keyboards and then choose from the available virtual keyboards to turn them on or off. The available virtual keyboards are:
      • Gboard
      • Google voice typing
      • Virtual Remote Keyboard
