I have tried renting a movie and an episode from a TV show. Both times I get an error "There was an error. If the problem persists, try restarting your device." I have restarted the Chromecast device and it still gives me this message. Movies from Amazon and Netflix, as well as recordings in my Library all play without any issues, never buffers.

This has also been happening to me and when I inquire with their customer support, they send me instructions with steps which do not make sense/are not possible to perform, and then when I try to point this out they close my support ticket and ignore me.
Google should probably be split up at this point, especially with their new Google Tags. Their product quality is dismal at this point.

Hi!
Actually, I think the device is well made and super intuitive to use. Their UI could use a little help in that they should merge Google TV and YTTV into one common page. Other than that, it works well - except for this rental issue not playing. When I hear issues like buffering, I find out people are still using old N spec wifi routers, or they are on the opposite end of their house from the TV. Overall I am pleased with the device, and would like Google to figure out this rental issue that I have.

Does anyone from Google TV monitor these forums?
