Samsung + Chromecast with Google TV Stuttering

I've tried changing settings on my Samsung tv and the frame rate of the Chromecast itself and nothing seems to help the frame rate. It's jumpy and drops frames periodically. I haven't seen any answers on the web for this. 

 

Any help?

Thanks for reaching out and I'm sorry to hear that you're having an issue with your Chromecast with Google TV. 

 

When did the issue start? What type of Chromecast with Google TV device do you have, is it the 4K or HD model? Please try the steps below:

 

  1. Check your internet connection.
  2. Reboot your Wi-Fi router.
  3. Clear the cache and data of the affected app.
  4. Check for device and app updates.
  5. Reboot your Chromecast with Google TV.
  6. Play a different video from other apps.
  7. Plug in the device to a different HDMI port on your TV.
  8. Plug in your Chromecast with Google TV on a different TV screen if one is available. 
  9. Factory reset your Chromecast. Here's a guide: How to factory reset your Chromecast.

the official line is the usual "restart your device ad absurdum" until they fix the android 12 release, assuming there is anyone left in the chromecast team

alternatively return the device; people are moving to roku/apple tv/shield instead.
