I am setting up Chromecast for the first time and my chromecast is set to HDMI 2.    I am not getting a signal on my tv screen.   What do I need to do?   Thanks for your assistance!

Hi tbfavero,

Thanks for posting here in the Google Nest Community. A few questions: what Chromecast device do you have connected to your TV? What is the make and model of your TV? Do you see any light on the Chromecast device when you plug it in to the power? What steps have you taken?

Try to do the basics by checking the LED. It should light up (at least blinking white) when you plug it in to power. Test different power sources. If the LED is on and the TV still doesn’t show anything, try different HDMI ports. Test it on another TV if needed. Let us know how it goes.

We look forward to your response.

Thanks,

Kimy

Hi Alexandra1,

Thanks for posting here in the Google Nest Community. Kindly give us more details in order for us to understand what’s going on. I shared above some questions and a few steps. Also, we would like to know what smartphone you are using for setup and the make and model of the new router you have for your Wi-Fi. We look forward to your answers and more information so we can provide other steps to try.

Kimy,  It wasn't getting any power.   I changed power outlets and it worked!   I didn't notice that it had to light up.   Thanks for your assistance!

I bought a chromecast 4k. I'm still trying to set it up I'm stuck on the last step to connect my google account to the chromecast.  It keeps asking for a pin. I didn't have one so I created one. Doesn't matter because it still isn't connecting. I don't know what to do now. My phone is the Samsung galaxy A02s, trying to connect it with the chromecast with Google TV 4k. Any suggestions???

Hi Poosciwoosci,

Thanks for posting here. I suggest you login to your account not via the Google Home App but directly via the Chromecast Voice Remote. If you can do a full clean-up (factory reset) and set it up from scratch using the remote (without using the Google Home App anymore), kindly try it, as we are trying to isolate if it’s related to accounts logged in and linked via the Google Home App. If it still persists, try to login to a different account (not linked to any home structure) via remote. Let us know how it goes.

Thanks,

Kimy
