The remote

I have Chromecast with Google TV. I came to use it one day and it wouldn't function there was no light at the bottom of the remote where it would let you know about pairing. What's its issue? How do I fix it? I've replaced the batteries twice and decided to check the batteries in another item and they were working fine so it's not the batteries. I've used the Chromecast ever since I got it for Christmas last year. I love my TV with it. It's an awesome addition! Thank you

Hey there LilRo,

 

I apologize about my late response, I really appreciate your patience! Are you still experiencing these issues with the Chromecast Voice Remote? If you are, I'd be happy to help you out!

 

First off, I would attempt to factory reset the Voice Remote. For simplicity, here are the steps:

  • (Optional) Check that the batteries in your Chromecast voice remote have charge remaining.
  • Remove the batteries from the remote. 
  • Press and hold the Home button. 
  • While holding the Home button, reinsert the batteries. 
  • Hold the button while the LED light is solid. 
  • When the light starts pulsing, release the button.

Give that a try and see if the device works, if not, I would give these steps a try:

  • Forget the remote control.

    To forget Chromecast Voice Remote:  Settings  Remotes and Accessories  Forget.

  • If there's a pending update, update the remote control.
  • Remove and replace the batteries in the Chromecast Voice Remote.

Let me know if that fixes the issue or not, then we can try more steps if needed. If you had any more questions or concerns, please let me know!
