Hi, 

I am having issues downloading a local streaming app e.g. 7plus, 10play etc. I keep getting a message saying, "This item is not available in your country." - I’ve been living in Australia for the past 5 years. Purchased the Chromecast yesterday within Australia. 

Everything in my life, phone, apps etc is set to my address in Aus. 
please help! thanks!

hi. have you set up the correct postcode within those apps?
Also do other apps e.g. neflix, kayo etc. work?

Hi, I’ve not checked it yet. I did notice in my chrome that one setting was set to my uk address. I’ve changed it and last time I logged into the tv I still couldn’t do it but not sure if it has refreshed

Hey there Becs163,

 

No problem at all! If you updated that old UK address, that may have helped it. If not, you may need to clear out the cached data in your Google Play Store app.

Hi, I seem to have a similar problem, I just purchased by Google Cast for Google TV today but I cannot seem to download BBC iPlayer even though I have a UK account and bought this in a local store today. Thanks, Josh.

Thanks for the update. Could you check this link and make sure that your address is updated? If it is updated and still not working try to reset your Chromecast and see if it will make a difference.

I purcahsed a brand new Google Chromecast with Google TV 4K from Officeworks. I get home and cant download local apps such as 7Plus, 9Now etc. I followed all of the support-suggested threads in this forum, and nothing has changed. I contacted support, and they couldn't do anything but escalate it. Seems like even support has no idea.

Does anyone in this forum have a solution?

I have the correct home address on all accounts
I reset the system
I completed a software update
I factory reset
Connected successfully on WiFi

Such a poor experience serves me right from moving away from Apple TV.

Yikes! Could you try a different Google Account or create a new Google Account, then use it to set up your Chromecast with Google TV and test if the same issue will persist?
