Voice Remote Wont Connect to Chromecast

Hi All,

I bought a new Google Voice Remote tso that I can have 2 remotes set up to my Chromecast with Google TV. I have gone through the process of trying to get the remote to connect to the Chromecast, but it wont connect.  I hold down the Back and Home buttons at the same time, and the light on the remote stays solid and doesn't start flashing, and there is no change to the info onscreen.

I have tried doing a factory reset of the Chromecast and still it wont connect.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Welcome to the Chromecast Community Forum! I'm sorry to hear that the Chromecast is giving you trouble connecting a 2nd remote. What I would recommend is that you try following the steps that Jeffrey provided on this thread. Give those steps a try, and let me know if the problem persists.

Hi Jeran,

I tried the solution you provided. The remote still won't connect to the chromecast.  I have tried performing a factory reset of the chromecast, I have also bought a second Google Voice remote incase the first one I purchased was faulty, but neither of the remotes will connect to the chromecast.

Is there any further help you can provide?

No problem at all, we can try a few more things. Go ahead and check out this thread where spfrank was able to find a work-around using the Virtual Remote. I've personally done that my self, and it worked!
