Xbox one controller can't pair with Chromecast with Google tv anymore

Josborne

For the past year or so I've been able to have my Xbox one controller paired to my Chromecast with Google tv and I've never had an issue. Now, when I try to get it to pair, my Chromecast just tells me "couldn't pair" and does nothing else. What happened? How can I fix this? My controller and Chromecast were both completely updated today but I've been having this issue for one or two months now...

Hey there,

Thanks for the help, DigitforPC.

Josborne, please try the suggested steps below and let me know how it goes:

  1. Reboot your Xbox one controller.
  2. Reboot your Chromecast with Google TV.
  3. Disconnect other Bluetooth devices you've previously paired to your Chromecast with Google TV.
  4. Unplug your TV for 10 seconds and then plug it back in. Once the TV is on, try pairing again.
  5. Check if the Bluetooth device pairs with other devices (Example: Phone or tablet).
  6. Reset your Chromecast with Google TV.

Thanks,

Jennifer

Regarding your query, I have found a comprehensive article about How to Set Up Chromecast on Xbox that has covered all the aspects of the process. Check it out and it might help you in resolving your issue. Thanks

Hey, thanks for the quick response but, I don't own a Xbox. So what you sent isn't really relevant to my issue. I just want to use my Xbox one controller to play PC games through Steam Link with my Chromecast with Google tv like I was able to a few months ago.

Thanks for the troubleshooting steps. I did everything except resetting the Chromecast and it worked.

Hello Josborne,

Great! Glad to hear that resetting the device helped you to resolve the issue. In the meantime, do you still have other questions and concerns?

Best,

Jennifer

Hi Jennifer,

I don't think you read my previous comment correctly... But thank you for asking, I don't have any other questions
