Youtube app on Chromecast with google TV

Is the youtube app on the Chromecast with Google TV the same app as the one on android phones or is it the same app as on smart tvs?

In the event that you haven't already gotten your answer, the YouTube app that is on the Chromecast with Google TV is most similar to the one you'd find on most smart TVs. I'm not sure if it's the exact same version, but they are essentially interchangeable.
