dual items running on one tv

i have several regular chromecast units on tv's in my home. i cast from the TCM app mostly; sometimes via spectrum tv app; sometimes via the bally or nbc sports apps. i use my cell phone or laptop. no problems. i bought the chromecast with google tv unit to use in the master bedroom where most viewing is done. i dont use the google tv function to cast from but the specific apps as listed above. i will be casting a movie from tcm app to the tv with the google tv unit and the movie will disappear replaced with the google tv home screen. the sound is still going from the movie but i cant get out of the google tv screen. i dont even know how it got there. why does this happen and how do i get it to quit? i end up hard booting the tv and google toggle by turning off the power. this isnt a convenient thing to do while in bed. does this haunting happen to anyone else? i find that this particular chromecast system does a lot of buffering where the singular chromecasts do not. is this a conflict with google tv function? its a samsung unsmart tv....

  • When did this issue start happening?
  • Does this issue only occur with the TCM app, or any app you cast?
  • Does this same issue occur when casting from another device?
  • What is the firmware version of your Chromecast?
  • What troubleshooting steps have you already tried?
