iOS Google TV and Google Home app remote problems

I am having problems using the remote control within the Google TV and the Google Home app.

I followed this guide: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tNhQcevchGU and I was able to temporarily fix the issue. It basically requires you to uninstall any updates to the "Android TV Remote Service" and update it back again to the latest version.

This fix only works for a few hours, then the Chormecast with Google TV asks me to pair the app's remote control again and I get the "full remote unavailable" message.

Can you please fix the bugs with the app and the Android TV Remote Service to be able to use my iPhone reliably as a remote control for my Chormecast with Google TV.

Thanks for reaching out and for doing some steps beforehand — these are of great help! To cover all the bases, could you please tell me the iOS version of your iPhone? Please try the additional steps below:

 

  1. Go to your phone settings > General > iPhone Storage > Google Home app. Click Offload app, then Delete the app.
  2. Reboot your iPhone.
  3. Turn on the iPhone and install the Google Home app.
  4. Reboot your Chromecast.
  5. Use a different mobile device.
  6. Reset your Chromecast.
