"WiFi Network didnt accept connection" Uni wifi issues

for some reason, my Uni has a wifi that needs a username and password, but another wifi point that requires the MAC address of the Chromecast then it gives a password for connecting, I've done this and put in the supplied password but the Error in the title "WiFi Network didn't accept the connection" and i keep retrying but to no avail.

any tips?

They're spying on you. They install certificates on your device to unencrypt all traffic, and they put their DNS in. A good reason is to cap TCP/UDP traffic. Likely reason, to stop bittorrent and encrypted traffic to porn. Bad reason is all your accounts are compromised.

Some devices can't or don't allow this.

The chromecast checks if it's on the same network- so you don't watch shows from other regions on it.

Airplay doesn't have this problem. It just casts directly.

If you still want to, install the Uni's spyware on your laptop, and then try to use the wifi share/router mode on it.
