using best streamz app on google chrome for tv...buffering

Hello, I am using a best streamz app on my google chromecast for tv. I am wired to my modem with an ethernet cable (10 foot cable). I closed all the apps running in background. I put fans on the actual chromecast device plugged into the hdmi port and even put a fan on the modem.  I can watch probably a half hour with no issues but then the screen will be buffering more frequently.. not long bufferings but just enough to be annoying.  Just last night I was watching the dodgers game on tbs and missed a few plays because of buffering....any help...btw. this is a new cable install from spectrum, were the installed all new poles and cable through out the country neighborhood.

I apologize about the late response, thank you for being patient! Were you able to fix that buffering issue? If not, I'd be happy to help out, let me just ask you some questions about what's happening:

  • When did this issue start happening?
  • Does this issue only occur on the Streamz app?
  • How far is the Chromecast device from the router?
  • Is the Chromecast's firmware up-to-date?

Ok I hope this works, I tried emailing you back but didn't go through. Anyways, I'm still having issues. My chromecast is hooked up with a ten foot ethernet cable, I put fans on both modem and the dongle. weird part is that I can watch a show for an hour before its starts buffering...I tried looking for the wifi on the google home app to prioritize  chromecast but I can't find it either....sorry for the delay as I was out of town. any help would be appreciated thanks doug

No problem at all! Just to double-check, does this buffering issue happen on every streaming app, or just the Best Streamz app? If it is happening across multiple apps, you can give these steps a try to help out:

  • Check your internet speed to make sure it's at least 20 Mbps for HD content.

  • Factory Reset the Chromecast with Google TV

  • Unplug your router, and keep it off for at least two minutes.

  • Reconnect your router and when your internet is online, set the remote up.

  • Finish setting up the device from there.

Now, if the issue is only happening with the Best Streamz app, try these steps:
