1st Gen Chromecast shows as "Not Available" in Google Home

After factory resetting my 1st Gen Chromecast, the setup was completed but the Google Home app shows it as "Not Available" and that it can't see it on the Wi-Fi. My router confirms it is in fact on my wifi.

Thank you for posting in the community, I am sorry to hear that you are unable to see the Chromecast 1St Gen in the Google home app for the error message Not available. 

 

To inform you  that support for the first-generation Chromecast has ended. This means that the device will no longer receive software or security updates from Google. As a result, you may experience a decline in performance or encounter compatibility issues with newer devices and services.

Please take a look at this article. At the moment, we recommend that you update to the new Chromecast device.
