Hi,
I have a 2nd gen doorbell and it's wired up in place of the old one. The small light does not light up but the light around the door bell button does ( blue colour). It functions as a normal door bell. I have plugged a power supply into the back of it but this changes nothing. I have also reset it but the small light still does nothing. Any idea what the issue is? Thanks.

When I plugged the power supply into the back of it it's still wired up to the power from the bell wires. Don't know if that makes a difference.

If you're replacing a 1st gen Google Nest Hello Doorbell with a 2nd gen Google Nest doorbell, you'll need to replace the 1st gen 4-wire chime connector with the 2nd gen 2-wire chime connector. You can find a diagram in this Help topic:

Some customers have also found they need to upgrade their transformer. We now have a 16V 30VA transformer.

Thanks for the reply. The thing is that is my doorbell actually working as the small light is not coming on when the power supply into it. Should that light come on if the power supply is plugged in?

I'm not sure of the details of what's happening in your case. For example, I'm not entirely sure what you mean by "plugging the power supply into the back of your doorbell". Do you mean you've wired it to your doorbell chime and transformer with your existing doorbell wires?
The status light should be green (indicating your doorbell transformer is live) if your doorbell is correctly wired with the chime connector and you have an adequate doorbell transformer and your doorbell installed in the Google Home app.
