ADT and Nest permissions

Annie123

I am new to ADT following the Nest announcement to discontinue Nest Secure and their partnership with Brinks. I am having difficulty giving the ADT + app permission in my Google Home app to access my devices. In order to add my existing Nest devices to ADT, it requires this step. No one from ADT has been able to help and I cannot get live google support so I am here.

please help if able.

thx!

I came across this after googling solutions for the exact same problem. My cameras keep saying it requires permission and I can’t view it on the ADT+ app even though on the Google Home app, it already has permission for everything. It’s been 3 weeks of calling customer support and no one was really able to help. Long story short, I had to uninstall and reinstall both my ADT+ and Google Home apps. When I logged back in on the ADT+ app, it asked me to sign into Google. I did, and then I can finally access my cameras through the ADT+ app.

I've done all these things and it keeps telling me it has limited access through the adt plus app, yet Google shows it has access to everything.

I have the exact same issue, and reinstalling both ADT+ and Nest apps didn’t help. I also deleted the apps, upgraded to the latest iOS, and reinstalled.

After completing the Google authentication flow, the ADT app errors every time. ADT support was completely clueless and couldn’t even understand the issue. I tried calling Nest support multiple times- there was no one on the line when it was answered and I could hear a baby crying in the background. The level of service is really disappointing on both sides for what was supposed to be a drop-in replacement for Nest Secure.

Update: After updating to the latest iOS, I restarted my device before reinstalling apps again. After doing this, there was a different auth flow in the ADT+ app when trying to add Google devices. After granting ADT+ access to my Nest devices, only 1 of my 5 devices shows in the ADT+ app. When I go back to the "Add devices" menu, the Google option is no longer there. Also, when I try to open the settings for the one device that was imported into the ADT+ app, it tells me that ADT only has limited access and asks me to open the "partner connection manager" to grant full access. When I do this, there is no option to grant ADT more access. "Remove ADT access" is the only option Google provides at this point.

It really seems that Nest devices don't actually integrate with ADT+ at all. Nest customer service, please contact me and offer any kind of help.

I'm having the exact same issues after having done all the things you listed.
