I want to use voice activated assistant on my pixel 6, but cannot abide the beep when I say hey or okay google.
As suggested, I toggled off the open mic and close mic notification in assistant settings under accessibility, but nothing changes!!
Fwiw, I love gadgets and testing out new tech and features (I'm a prolific user of google home routines even with all their shortcomings and errors), but I'm so frustrated with this I never use assistant on my phone.
Is there a fix ir no? Ty

Hey jhat,
Thanks for posting here in the Community forum. We'd love to help.
To turn off the sound notification when activating your Google Assistant on your Pixel 6, you can follow these steps: open your phone's Settings > Look for Accessibility > Choose Switch Access > Toggle it off to disable the sound notification.
Let me know if this works.
Best,
Lovely

Hey there,
Thanks for the update. Could you try these additional steps:
On your Android phone open Google Assistant app > mini compass icon on the right side of screen > Explore > tap on your Google account icon > Settings > select Assistant tab > Assistant devices - tap on your device (phone) > enable all selections > disable the first choice for a few seconds and enable again. Also, try reinstalling the updates on your Google app.
If the issue persists, contact Google Assistant support for additional help. Let us know if you need help with any Google Nest devices otherwise, we'll lock this thread after 24 hours.
Best,
Alex
