So, this is a repeating problem that I have been experiencing for almost 2 years now - ever since Google re did the entire layout of Google Home!
For some freaking reason EVERY WEEK automated routines just STOP working for NO reason! Then a few days later they'll start working again!
No, it's NOT my Wi-Fi as my Wi-Fi is extremly strong!
No it's NOT any of my device apps as they auto update, and I routinely check device firmware updates!
No it is NOT my account, as I have switched accounts and have experienced the EXACT same problem!
(More often than not, when my routines stop working like this, there are OTHER Google related issues)!
They were actually working properly for 2 straight weeks recently (the LONGEST stretch without a problem in over 1 year). Then suddenly last week they stopped working. I am tired of resetting up my automated routines so this time I opted NOT to reset them up. In fact, I was planning on using timers again since Google is so unreliable now. BUT, lo and behold they started working again 2 days ago, and NOTHING changed! NOTHING! But, like usual, that did not last long as they stopped working again last night! So once again, I plan on switching back to timers because Google is that screwed up now! I should NOT have to go through this every week. I should NOT have to re set up my routines EVERY WEEK! I'VE HAD IT!
I NOW know this is a Google issue as I have NOT changed ANYTHING in the last 10 days! When I reported said issue on Google Play (after checking EVERYHTING) they replied with the typical check this check that cookie cutter message - which I know by heart now! BUT, they FAILED to acknowledge the fact that I alreadt MENTIONED doing that! Funny thing is 2 days later they started working again, BUT there were other issues with other Google apps - INCLUDING Ok Google not working AT ALL! (It's a known issue Google does not work well with Samsung devices). Their reply? "We're happy you are having a good experience with ..." total BS reply because the problem was and IS on Google's end!
I keep telling Google that the presence sensing function does NOT work right 1/2 the time anymore! For example - once again my phone showed me in Arizona!?! AGAIN! BUT, I live in Illinois! HOW TF DOES THAT HAPPEN?
MORE issues: Google family bells were all kinds of screwed up - it was cut off at the beginning of a Bell, then Google sounded like it was on helium, then it was cut off at the end! THIS LASTED FOR 3 WEEKS! Chromecast was NOT working properly either during this same period of time! ANOTHER problem is getting TWO TOTALLY DIFFERENT replies to the exact same question on my Google Home Hub vs. my Google MINI speaker - they used to give the EXACT same responses! Google home can't even answer BASIC QUESTIONS 1/2 the time now! ALSO - Google USED to give the temperature AND windchill factor during the winter when asking for the temperature! NOW you have to ask for the temperature and after the answer you have to ask FOR the wind chill, WHY?
YES I am sick of this because Google Home USED to work flawlessly PRIOR to the new app redesign! I keep seeing more & more people experiencing the SAME problems, and getting the SAME cookie cutter responses! Why won't Google LISTEN to us for a change since it is US that are experiencing these problems?
