Automating Google Nest Cam Indoor Wired Cam 2nd Gen

After many struggles with my Furbo I opted to replace it with a Nest Hub Max (monitoring and entertainment for my pup in her crate) and a Nest Indoor Wired Cam (more complete monitoring in the house). The Nest Hub works with the Nest app great and allows me to set up on/off schedules and automations. The Nest Cam on the other hand doesn't allow me to do anything! It won't connect to the Nest app which makes zero sense, but regardless it won't even let me do anything useful with in in the Home app. I can open and view, and that's literally it. I cannot add the cam to automations and there are no direct settings allowing for on/off scheduling.

Anyone have any suggestions other than returning it extremely disappointed and forced to buy another Furbo that at least lets me use on/off scheduling??

Hey @SoCalJen27 - Sorry for the frustrating experience with scheduling your camera on and off. If you have one of our newer cameras set up using the Google Home App, you'll need to use the Home App to view and manage your new camera. Check out our Create a Nest camera schedule with the app help article that should cover what you're looking for in terms of scheduling your new camera to turn on and off at scheduled times. Let me know if you run into any issues with creating this automation!

I keep reading that I can use my phone location to turn the camera automatically on and off when I leave and that it will turn on when it senses a person but none of that is working.

I have a similar issue where I can't add my camera to a personal routine that triggers on my phone leaving or returning home.  The camera simply isn't in the list of devices to add.

I can add the camera to a household routine but I can't use my phone location as a household routine starter.

I'm the only person in the household and am the only person showing as a household member in the Home app.

My camera is a new Nest Camera (wired)
