So I've set some automations that trigger by button click (light switch on/off). When I click the button or switch the switch in the google home app some lights should turn on.
They actually do not turn on untill I open up the Google Home app and go to 'devices'. The automations will instantly trigger after that but untill I start up the app or in the case of that I toggled the switch in the app I need to restart the app completely in order for the automation to trigger and do it's magic.
Some extra information is that in the house there are 2 accounts (me and my wife) but my wife is not using the Public Preview version of the app but I am.
I hope this issue is easy to solve by just some settings in my phone 🙂 .

Hi Albastraoz,
Thanks for reaching out, I know how it feels when something isn’t working as it should. Let's get this sorted out. A few questions: what is the brand of the lights that we are working on? Did this routine work before? What steps have you taken so far?
Try to unlink and relink your lights and create the routine again, then observe if this will make a difference.
Keep me posted

Juni

Hi Juni,
sorry for the late response. I got philips hue lights and a Wiser micro light switch. So automation is as follows: if the button is pressed to ON the light bulbs go on and them the same for when the light switch is turned OFF. Only after I restart google home and open the 'devices' tab the automation starts. Before that nothing will happen.
