Boy, have I got voice command feedback for you!

I have 4 assistant devices in my home and I find that lately commands are 1) being executed on a different device than expected and 2) sometimes giving very different results than what was asked.

For example, I told my bedroom speaker to turn off the lights and the speaker replied “Okay, stopping rain sounds on kid’s room speaker”.

The expected action would have been for the bedroom lights to turn off rather than the speaker turning off the rain sounds while my kids are asleep.

A related command that’s no longer working properly - asking one device to play a specific song on another device.

For example, when the rain sounds get turned off in my kids’ room, I used to be able to tell my hub “play relaxing rain sounds on Little’s room speaker” and it would. Now, the hub will play rain sounds rather than the device I specified.

Hopefully these examples are helpful and if so… There are 8 people in my home that use these devices so I can give MUCH more feedback.

Recently (last month or two) I've found there to be general chaos around which device responds to me. I'll ask Nest Hub in my bedroom to play rain sounds, it ends up playing in bedroom and in another room. I've also been speaking to a hub that is physically very close me, and a hub on the other side of the house responds.

I believe some of the Nest Hub devices were migrated to Fuchsia recently. If so, these regressions could be related to the migration.

Hi folks

Thanks for posting here in the Google Nest Community.

@here2givekudos and SMcKay, I know how it feels when something isn’t working as it should, let’s get this resolved. Could you check the My activity section and check the command that got registered and its action? If possible, try to send a screenshot of it so we can check further. See the instructions below.

Check your Google assistant actvity

  1. Open the Google Home app .
  2. At the top right, tap your account.
  3. Tap My Activity .

How to upload a photo:

  1. Start a new post.
  2. Click Insert Image.
  3. Choose an image source location.
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions

Also, you can tap the "Drag and Drop" option. Maximum attachment is 5 MB.

Looking forward to your repsonse.

Thanks,

Juni
