Can't Connect (tried it all)

I have connected 6 cameras on 2 two different networks.  Set up was very easy and cameras work great.   HOWEVER we bought 4 more cameras and we cannot get ANY of them to connect to any wireless network. We have tried 4 independent wifi networks and get the same error :

"   Something went wrong.  Try connecting again. If that doesn't work try rebooting your device or turning your phone's airplane mode on and off before trying again. "

I have tried all the troubleshooting steps.  These 4 cameras. bought brand new at 2 different stores are marooned.

There must be something simple here as it was so easy to connect before, now I am dead in the water.  I'm usinf Google Home.  Did they change something?  Any ideas?

It seems from your diagram that your Wi-Fi networks and your Google Nest "homes" are in different physical locations. Your phone needs to be close to your Google Nest camera when installing it--on the same Wi-Fi network and within Bluetooth range; you cannot install Google Nest devices remotely.

I am puzzled by why you have 4 different Wi-Fi networks, since I think that presents challenges, but that aside, when you installed your 6 earlier cameras in the Google Home app--on 2 different Wi-Fi networks--did you install them in 2 different Google Nest "homes/structures"? If you did NOT, I think you're going to have issues; Google Nest is designed to support only one Wi-Fi network in a Google Nest "home/structure".

If you DID install your 6 earlier cameras in two different Google Nest "homes/structures" on 2 different Wi-Fi networks, are you connecting to ONE of those two Google Nest "homes/structures" in the Google Home app on one of the two Wi-Fi networks on which you installed them, in order to install the 4 new cameras?

Have you considered temporarily turning off 3 of your Wi-Fi networks, leaving on only the Wi-Fi network where you want to install the 4 new cameras, and connecting in your Google Home app to the Google Nest "home/structure" connected to that Wi-Fi network?

I'm assuming that all 10 of your cameras are the newer Google Nest cameras released since Sept. 2021 that work ONLY in the Google Home app.

I currently have 3 separate home wifi networks. I have cameras working on all three working just fine.  Cant seem to add these new cameras to any of these home networks.  (purchased new cams  January 2023).  -chris

Do you have a separate Google Nest "home/structure" for each Wi-Fi network? If not, I think you will have problems. "The Google Home app supports only one Wi-Fi network per home" (https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/9547597).

Since your phone can probably connect to all 3 Wi-Fi networks, I think installation could be problematical; that's why I suggested temporarily turning off the other Wi-Fi networks when trying to install your cameras.

I will look into this material.  For your reference the attached is the configuration. I cannot add/connect the new cams to Room 1 structure or Room 2 structure.  The other cams connected without any trouble using the same method.

Hi there,

Thanks for bringing up the concern you're having. Thank you for your help here, MplsCustomer. This is quite the set up you have here. It will definitely come with some complications. You need to make sure that each camera needs to be connected to the physical location it is connected to in each home/structure.

Best regards,
Brad
