Can’t add family member to Google home app
Any attempt to type In the Google home app > add family member > enter email address only allows a single character then exits. That single character is added to the contact list which of course is invalid. I have tried several attempts with the same result. What am I doing wrong

Thanks for posting here in the Community.
Workspace and child accounts are not recommended to be invited as family members in the Google Home app, so please make sure that you are inviting a personal account. Check out this support article for more information.

While you did respond ref workspace and child accounts, i have no clue what you are talking about or how to resolve the issue. Please advise how to add my wife to my account so she can get camera notices

Chiming in, sorry for the confusion. What type of account does your wife have (personal or business)? Is it a Gmail account? Have you tried using a different phone? What is the version of the Google Home app installed on your phone?

Thank you for the response. We only have one account that we use for both our nest aware (3) and one account that we use for our google nest cameras (1). I get notifications my wife does not. She did prior to converting our nest aware cameras to google . Not sure what you mean by business or personal but i suspect personal. We have the latest nest and google home apps. We use my login credentials. We also have the dame iphone 13s which have the latest ios.

Apologies for the delay. Just so we're on the same page, have you already tried adding or have you added a home member to your Google Home app for them to have control over your Nest Camera? Adding home members should have a non-business and non-personalized Google account for them to be accepted.

thanks for the explanation. I was trying to simply add an email address to my account as was possible with nest aware products I didnt know that my wife needed a separate google account to be a family member of our google nest cameras. We solved the problem by just using the same user name and password.
