Can’t link my Hotwire Fision Google Assistant on my cable box to my google home

ASUsunDEVIL

Our community has just decided to dump Comcast and switch to Hotwire Fision for cable and Internet. The new cable box (Technicolor device model #UIW4054HWC) is Google-assistant enabled. I have logged in on the set top box with my Google account. When I bring up my Google home app on my phone the “media” button at the top allows me to perform basic functions like pause the show, but the device is not recognized in my devices.

My goal is to either use the Google app on my phone, or my Google smart speaker to change channels or other basic things like record the show I’m watching. I never thought I would miss Comcast, but their devices were compatible with Alexa and it worked seamlessly.

Please help, if you can, thanks!
