Can't reset Goggle mini

Had to replace my router.  Trying to get my 3 minis to work.  Tried disconnecting power11 times- no luck.  Tried resetting (turn mic off, hold lights down until it resets) but orange lights stay on and nothing else happens.  So, 3 minis down the drain?  Why can't there be a simple way to reset the network they are connected to?  The really frustrating thing is the app can see them, greyed out, but can't do anything with them.  Thoughts?

This certainly hasn’t been easy for you. Let’s further look into it. What version of Google Mini device do you have? Are they Google Home Minis or Google Nest Minis? Google Nest Mini is the speaker that you can mount to the wall.

Home minis, and right now all 3 have 5 solid orange dots on top.  As to version, I don't know how to tell.  If I pick one up, I get told "by the way, the microphone is off", the lights change to white briefly and then go back to orange.

Hi there,

 

Thanks for confirming. It looks like the microphone button at the side is switched off; that’s why they are showing orange LEDs. To factory reset your Google Home Mini devices, press and hold the factory reset button located at the bottom, on the rubber, near the power cord. Continue to hold for about 10 seconds more, until a sound confirms that the device is resetting. Wait for your Google Home Mini to boot up and greet you with “Welcome to Google Home. To get started..." message, and then try to set it up in the Google Home app.

I'm sorry to say that, regardless whether the mic is on or off, I can't get the devices to reset.  I've held the "button" in the middle of the bottom, and also tried the indent closer to the base of the cord, for well more than 10 seconds without any response from any of the devices.
