I think it would be great if someone could make this happen. First, you can select to record TV show, etc, to watch later; however, as an Idea for seniors with dementia, etc. I care for my father, who is 87, with Dementia. He no longer remembers tasks like how to use a remote. Also, when you start the Chromecast, it goes to the smart menu for apps, etc. He cannot navigate it at all. So here's where the idea comes in. It would be great if there were an option to see the Chromecast and turn on the TV at a specific time for a specific channel. Then next to be able to set it to change channels at specific times to his favourite channels. Like 8 am, his favourite news channel. Later, he went to his favorite TV show on another channel. Even being able to set his viewing all day at specific times. Having the option to record or not wouldn't hurt. This way, all he would have to do is get up and watch it.
It would be great if this were specifically a Google feature or an Alexa add-on routine that could be installed. I've looked, and there doesn't appear to be anything like this. I can think of many people caring for their elderly parents, which would be very helpful. No one has anything like this. The only thing I can find is a universal remote device. And that has an Alexa who can control the TV. But then there's nothing for Google Chrome that will automatically start a last-channel-watch kind of feature. Or the ability to set the Chromecast going to specific channels as specific times.
