Connecting Google Nest WiFi

I have a Fritzbox wifi router system with an additional netgear wifi access point.  I have also setup a Netgear mesh system with 2 hubs.  Both netgear mesh devices have now failed (very annoying) and I wish to replace them with google nest wifi.  Do I just unplug the ethernet cable currently going to the failed hub and plug the google mesh into that cable and setup the mesh or should I turn on the Fritzbox wifi and connect the google hub to that?

Hi @cshaw!

Thank you for reaching out to the community. I am glad to see that you want to replace your Fritzbox Wi-Fi router and Netgear mesh devices with a Google Nest Wi-Fi. It is my pleasure to help you to make the best decision.
Regarding the connection of the Nest Google routers, they have to be directly connected to the modem, and the modem will give them a connection after connecting them in the Google Home app.

To help me find the best solution, I'll need to ask you a few questions:

  • What is your ISP?
  • Do you want to make Google Wifi part of your network? Or do you want to have your ISP with Google Wifi?

Please keep me posted. I'll be waiting for your response.

Regards,
Jeremy.
