I’ve been diving into some tools that let you customize how apps behave by using flags and pre-sets—something like a custom configuration utility I came across.
It got me thinking: could tweaking these settings—especially around network or device permissions—actually mess with how my Nest devices sync or pair with Matter routines?
I’ve been noticing that sometimes after making these changes, my devices seem to lag or skip during automation sequences. Could these low-level adjustments be interfering with the trust settings or the way devices interact with Google Home?
Would love to hear if anyone has run into something similar or if I’m just overthinking it!

Hey mario4578,
Thanks for posting in the community! I understand you're wondering if custom configuration tools might affect your Google Nest device syncing and pairing with Matter routines. I'll be more than happy to share more details with you.
Let me tell you that we just recommend using your Google Nest devices with the Google Home app. This helps make sure they work the way they're supposed to and that your automation sequences run smoothly.
Hope this helps!
Best regards,
Jenny
