Could not reach Smart Life. Please try again

Hi,

For a couple of months, I have been trying to reconnect Google Home to Smart Life with no success. It was connected and I noticed some new devices didn't show, so I disconnected and now can't link them back up again.

I have tried several Android devices, my mobile, an old mobile, and a tablet with no joy. I have tried:

  • On my current phone (S21 FE), linking from Smart Life to Google Home and Google Home to Smart Life
  • On my Tablet (S6 Lite), the same as above
  • On an old phone 1+ 3, removing the Smart Life app (I saw this suggested on another post), try to set it up via Google Home and no luck, same message.
  • I have also tried uninstalling the Google app updates, clearing the cache on this, Google Home and smart life (where installed) and still no luck.
  • Registering for Beta on Google and Google Home - no luck
  • Removing Beta registration on Google and Google Home - no luck

I was able to set up another "Works with Google" Integration, when this first became an issue with Smart Life, so not sure what is happening.

Any other ideas or suggestions?

As an update, I managed to connect Tuya to Google home and migrate my devices, but it seems to have stopped adding devices as I hit 20. Trying to reconnect the Tuya account now has the  Could not reach Tuya. Please try again, so something odd is going on. I really wanted to move away from Amazon Alex to Google Home, but I have to live with it a bit longer until this is fixed.

FYI - Amazon Alexa is adding the new devices from Tuya as soon as I add them, so it seems like a Google thing

Update - It's resolved!

For anyone that has this issue in future, as I recently migrated my devices from Smart Life to Tuya, I re-traced my steps around what I added when the issue happened. I found one device (a PIR with Nightlight) that seems to break the integration/pairing process.

I removed this from Tuya and it re-syncs the devices as expected. This one device I have added to Smart Life and it will not connect with Google Home. Amazon Alexa accepts it fine, but Google doesn't.
