Creating a script to Run Youtube Music on my Android Phone

Hi All,
I am new to this and I would appreciate your help. I have a playlist on my Youtube Music that I want to set an automation for it to run whenever I give google assistant a specific command "Run Music". I have tried to do this without automation but it is not working. So figured will give automation a try. Is there away to write a script that when giving the command "Run Music" my phone will start the playlist on Youtube music?

Thanks in advance.

Not 100% sure, but you might want to try using the Google Home app’s Routines feature it can sometimes trigger media like playlists with custom commands. Hope you find a solution!

I have tried that. However, it is not working even when I give it my playlist name and set up my default music player.

Hi abdullahazzam,

Thanks for reaching out to the community! I understand you want to create an automation that plays your YouTube Music playlist when you say 'Run Music' to Google Assistant. I see that you've already tried some direct commands without success. Let's work together to find a solution! To gather some more details, I'd like to ask the following questions:

  • Is the Google Assistant enabled on your phone device? Please check out this link to enable it: Set up Google Assistant on your phone or tablet
  • Which operating system are you using? Is it Android or iOS?
  • Is your Google Home app updated? Visit this link to update it: Update the Google Home app
  • When you say 'Run Music,' does the Google Assistant acknowledge your command at all?

Please let me know if you have any additional information; it would be helpful.

Best regards,
Juan
