Creating or editing routines gives a 500 error

tylercal

I cannot edit or create any routines for my google home devices. When I try to do so. I just get

500. That’s an error.

There was an error. Please try again later. That’s all we know.

with no way to go back. I have to force quit the app to continue. I observed this last night and this morning.

I was having the same problem and started unlinking some services I don't really use on Google Home.

When I removed Logi Circle (camera) I was able to open my routines edit page and the create routine page again.

Hi folks,

Thanks for reaching out. Give the steps below a try and let me know how it goes:

  1. Created a new Home structure.
  2. Deleted all Routines in https://goo.gle/3MBBZy9.
  3. Uninstall and reinstall Google Home app.
  4. Update Google App for Android users.
  5. Download Google App for iOS users.
  6. Change email account for testing.

Regards,

Juni

Thanks for the ideas, but none of that helped.

  • A new home structure doesn’t offer routines for whatever reason. I also have over 60 devices which I don’t want to go through the hassle of assigning in a new home.
  • That link is for your google activity and does not have an option to delete routines. And even if it did, adding new routines is also broken, My routines are not easy to recreate, I do not want to delete them.
  • removing and reinstalling the all did nothing, the error appear more like a web page server error (500) so that would make sense that the app is not the problem.
  • I don’t have Android
  • i have the google app, but there are no home controls in that app. Why would that help?
  • changing email makes no sense, the whole point is to have it connected to your google account,

Juni,

“works with Google” Logi Cams no longer “works with Google” we have all had to unlink Logi to be able to access our routines. Can you look into this issue please?

Same here... The problem is only with the current Google account i use for my home with all my devices and routines. Can't edit existing routines or create new ones. If i change google account in google home app, the routines work, but recreating my home and routines will take days and I don't want to change google account and i pay for google one for the account used in google home.

I went through the long and painful journey of creating a new google account and set up 80% of my routines in a few hours yesterday, went to bed thinking I've resolved this. This morning I added another google device and. then noticed that my household routines are missing. Only personal routines can be seen. WTF is going on?

I found  google household routines, they are now in personal assistant!

Still get the same 500 error if I go to that location . Good find though…

Ok, so I can also confirm. Removing logi cam service solves the problem. That's weird.

I think the issue is fully resolved now.

After a few days, I re-added the logi circle service with no issue now.

I can access my camera and my routines with no problem now.
