Doorbell history not working

Why is it my that my doorbell sometimes record and save history but when I go back to it, the history is not there and it could be within the same day and sometimes it’s not recording at all. Overall, it’s not recording all of the activity I have going on within that day. And the ones that I do record it deletes it. It’s telling me no history for yesterday the day before that and the day before that, etc., when I had activity

Do you have a Nest Aware or Nest Aware Plus subscription? Which doorbell do you have?

Thank you for porting in the community. I'm sorry to hear that video history isn't saved in the app but sometimes it isn't recording at all.  I'm happy to help you!

At the moment, i need to ask a few questions to give the correct troubleshooting: 

  • What type of Nest doorbell do you have?
  • Does the live feed work fine?
  • Has the Nest camera worked in the past?
  • When did the inconvenience start? 
  • Do you have any active subscriptions? 
  • How far is the Nest doorbell from the router?

Yes, I have excellent live feet and its still working. 2 cameras about 15 feet away from the Router. This started happening about a month ago. No, I don’t have a subscription. Is this doorbell camera required to have a subscription, In order for it to work?

If you have 1st gen Google Nest cameras and doorbells in the Google Nest app and do NOT have a Nest Aware subscription, then you have access only to snapshots of events that occurred in the most recent 3 hours. If you have 2nd gen Google Nest cameras and doorbells in the Google Home app and do NOT have a Nest Aware subscription, then you have access only to event video history for events that occurred in the most recent 3 hours.
