Everything about Google home is broken

We have been happily using Google home with several devices for years, but things have significantly degraded within the past few months. Tasks that used to be executed without issue are just impossible right now. Some examples:

 
Google will respond to a timer being set, but then no timer will have actually been started. Timers will respond before we are done prompting them and be for the wrong duration. We are unable to set timers with any durations that include seconds. Timers no longer accept names which makes tasks with multiple timers very confusing. 
 
Google is unable to play albums or playlists from spotify including albums and playlists that we have requested and played many previous times without issue. Often we will request a song or an artist and then the Google nest hub will pull up Google TV which will stop whatever someone else in the house is watching on a Google TV. 
 
Google TV is continuously prompting us to connect to a Bluetooth device that is not even powered on.
 
Questions that Google used to be able to answer with ease now respond with "I don't know" or something similar. 
 
Everything about Google home and how we have been using it for years just does not work right now. There is no way I can recommend any of their devices or services at this point until these issues are resolved.

Before we move forward, I need a little more information to provide you with the most accurate steps:

  • Since you mentioned these issues started a few months ago, have there been any changes to your Wi-Fi network or Internet Service Provider recently?
  • Is your Google Home app fully up to date?
  • Regarding the music interrupting the TV: Could you check the specific names of your Nest Hub and your Google TV in the Google Home app? Do they have very similar names (e.g., 'Living Room' vs. 'Living Room TV')?
  • When you set a timer and it fails, does the Assistant give you a verbal confirmation that the timer was set, or does it stay silent?
  • Have you had a chance to check 'My Activity' in the Google app to see if the device is correctly transcribing your voice commands?
