First time thermostat user, Google won’t allow sign-in on my Apple products

I think this may be an Apple-google compatibility issue, but every time I try to log in with my google acct, it directs me back to login. I’ve granted every permission in the app settings I can find. What am I missing? I haven’t migrated the acct, but for fun I tried logging in thru Nest, which won’t let me sign up as a first time user, only sign in under an acct I don’t have. Nest support is supposed to be calling me back after a 45 min wait in hold earlier. How to fix this?

There are no known issues that match what you described as far as I'm aware. To start with, which model of thermostat do you have? You can check here: How to tell which Nest thermostat you have - Google Nest Help

I have seen a few posts indicating that if you don't have 3rd-party cookies enabled for google.com and/or nest.com, your login just loops back to the initial screen.
