Gentle Sleep doesn't turn of my lights completely after 0%

Hi, So I made 3 separate the gentle sleep an wake-up in my routine that would trigger everyday.

1. Gentle sleep - 11:00pm

2. Wake-up - 6:00am

3. Gentle sleep - 7:30am (just so I dont have to tell google assistant to turn it off)

 

I have smart 3 bulbs in my bedroom 2 of them are Lifx and a Wiz candle which sits on my bedside table. The problem is, on the gentle sleep - it doesn't turn off my lights completely. It just put it in 0% but doesn't turn it off. And the Wiz candle doesn't support 0%. The lowest it go is at 10%. I have to wake up in the middle of the night to turn it off. Is there any way to get around this so that the bulbs are completely turned off and not just dimmed to 0%.

Thanks for the info you've shared. A few things we'd like to ask-- has this worked before or is this the first time that you will try this to your lights? Before we try to make it work, let's make sure that these steps are done.

 

Set up your smart lights in the Google Home app by following the instructions in one of these articles:

Let us know if everythig is completely set up so we can sort things out.

Hi Princess,

I already setup all my smart lights in the Google home app. The two Lifx bulbs has no problem turning all the way off. It's just the Wiz candle bulb, it just goes down to 10% then stops there.

Update: I decided to replace the Wiz bulb to a Lifx bulb so all three bulbs will be the same. Now all bulbs goes all the way down to 0% but still doesn't turn it off, according to the Home app the light are in 0% but the status is "On" (maybe I'm the only one experiencing this and do let me know 0% dim is the same with "Off")

I did a little test with the sleep routine to see if it turns it off after 0% and it turns out NO, it doesn't turn off the bulb (again - according to the app). So I made my routine actions like this:-

  • Sleep my lights
  • Turn off lights after 31 minutes 

*31 minutes because the default sleep/wake duration is 30 minutes, I don't know if it needed the extra 1 minute. And this seems to be working with me. Please share if you guys has any other way.

Hey Ubilll,

 

While it may have worked before, Gentle Sleep and Wake allows you to slowly brighten or dim your smart lights, switches and plugs but it will not totally turn off your lights. You can check this guide for more information.
