Hi,
There was a previous thread on this and as I have the same problem and as I am unconviced about the previously suggested solution, I opened a new thread.
I have two homes where i am using Google Home and Google Assistant. My primary home (House) has Philips Hue, Sonos, some Tapo devices and FireAngel devices.
My secondary home (Cottage) has Philips Hue, Sonos, some Tapo devices, FireAngel, Adax, BG and ProTouch.
I have used separate Google accounts for each home, so in Google Home the owner of each home is a separate Google account.
I have invited my primary Google account as a guest to my Cottage, allowing my primary Google account access to all the devices in Cottage.
In Google Home there is no problem. The problem is with Google Assistant and spoken commands. Some of the time Google Assistant is cooperative and switches on the appropriate light or plays the asked for music on the appropriate speaker. Sometimes Google Assistant will complain that there is no such device, even though it previously will have operated that device quite happily. And sometimes Google Assistant just accepts a command and nothing happens in the home in which I am. However, my wife who is in the other house will complain about lights coming on or switching off randomly or music suddenly playing.
Naming all devices with a prefix to have unique names across all homes seems quite unproductive. Surely the app or collection of apps that make.upmyhe Assistant should be able to work out that the normal case is you want to operate a local device. This should be possible even without AI.
Cheers
Tom

I have two homes.
When I am in one home and say (to my Google Hub) “Hey Google, dining room lights off”, the reply is “Sorry, I’m not sure which dining room you would like to turn off”. This is new as of very recently; previously the lights would get turned off without issue. However, I can say “Hey Google, dining room lights zero percent” and they turn off. Note: any percent value works fine.
Besides this being a new forehead slapper, it’s also not great because I also have to use a “percent” phrase to turn them on, and this is annoying because it sets all six lights to the same value (typically not what I want).
Of course I am using this specific case to illustrate a general problem that comes into play for all the light-groups that are duplicated across both houses.
In the year or so that I have had two houses, Google Home has been frustrating to varying degrees, but something happened recently that made it worse than ever.

Food point about the Assistant changing it's behaviour over time. I am sure this is due to intended improvements. I've had similar experiences and it is very frustrating.
