Hi, I use my chromecast 4K with in hotels to access my tv account from hotel's tv (and wifi)
What I find is that wifi that requires a login almost always does not work and forces me to tether the chromecast to my mobile data.
So please add better support to public wifi requiring login (also an auto-login feature and credential storage will be really useful)

Hi @DDS90
I am not sure if this is fixable by Google. It also heavily depends on the hotels WiFi network capabilities.
Often they block device to device connections for safety and other security measures to secure the network.

@RXShorty Thanks, that's not an issue: I have the chromecast 4K with the remote control, use it to watch youtube netflix etc, I don't need to control it from the phone, the remote is enough.
I just want to connect, and log in to the captive portal if needed, to the wifi network to enjoy the programs I like on a bigger screen.

Hello DDS90,
Thanks for reaching out. I appreciate for helping here. Please note that a network with authentication pages are also known as captive portals and are not supported by any Chromecast device.
As a workaround, you will need to ask the network administrator on the hotel to add the MAC address manually on their router. You can find your Chromecast’s MAC address during the initial setup and after you've completed setup:
Locating the MAC address during initial setup:
Locating the MAC address on a mobile device after Chromecast setup:
Hope this helps.

In a perfect world may be a valid solution unfortunally is not enactable due to how hotels are managed and organized and me being a single customer among many.

Hi DDS90,
I understand where you’re coming from. Another thing you can try is to use a mobile hotspot. I hope this works for you. Let me know if you have questions.
Thanks,
Kimy

Hey DDS90,
We understand how you feel. However, the device isn't compatible with a captive portal network. We know this is not the best answer that you're looking for, but let us know if you still have other questions, otherwise, I'll be locking this after 24 hours.
Cheers,
Muddi
