Hey all,
since updating to the newest version of iOS, The remote feature in the Google Home app no longer works. I am unable to control my chrome cast tv now. I used to use it with the compatible remote but that stopped working. Now with the app I get an error message saying “full remote unavailable. Please make sure your streaming device has the latest software”. Both my device (Chromcast TV 4K) and phone are up to date. The remote works fine on my android device but neither mine or my wife’s iPhone now. Have uninstalled and reinstalled the app and have reset all the devices but no luck. Please advise.

But the issue returns. This is just a temporary fix. Can we get a more permanent solution from Google?

I can tell you what worked for me, what i did was this Disabled the full access option.
