Hi, wondering if anyone else has had the same issue.  Just purchase the Nest Hub Max and speakers.  I already had the Google Home app on my phone but couldn't get anything to work on the app to do the set up.  I went to see if the app needed to be updated but it's telling me that it's no longer compatible with my device.  I've got an Oppo A73.  Is it saying that my phone is too old? 😞

Sorry you are experiencing this.  Since you just got the Hub Max, I would recommend you send it back right away. I've had problems with the screen with mine and google is no help. I wanted to share my experience - I would 100% send the device back for a refund.

Thanks for the details you provided. We’d be happy to look into this for you. Android 8.0 version or later is the requirement. Check if your phone is updated. Here are the steps on how to do that.

  1. Open your phone's Settings app.
  2. Near the bottom, tap About phone and then Android version.
  3. Find your "Android version," "Android security update," and "Build number."

Check this link for more information. Also here is a helpful link so you can set up your Nest Hub Max properly.

Sorry about this. Here's the required specs of the set up device that you can use in setting up your Google Nest Hub Max:

 

  • Has Android 8.0 or later.
  • Works with 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz Wi-Fi network (a WPA-2 Enterprise network won't work).
  • Has iOS 14.0 or later.
  • Works with 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz Wi-Fi network (a WPA-2 Enterprise network won't work).
