Since yesterday morning, Google Home could not control my Philips Hue lights that had worked for years. It was saying that Philips Hue was not available and all lights showed offline in the app on both my iOS and Android devices. But I could control the lights directly from the Philips Hue app and with Alexa and Siri.
From the Google Home app, I tried to unlink Philips Hue but it was not listed as linked. I was trying to link again, but it never did, so I had to unlink Google through the Philips Hue webpage in my account. After that, I was able to link Philips Hue again to my Google Home on the app.
I was able to add all the lights and put them in their respective room. But now, I can only change the color, dim the lights or turn them on/off either with the Google Home app or with a voice command in my devices (Google Mini, Google Nest Hub, or Lenovo Smart Clock with Google Assistant). But when I try to set or change scenes I get the same message "I couldn't reach Philips Hue" or "Sorry, it seems that Philips Hue is not available right now".
I have asked Google Home to link all my devices several times and it seems that it does it as I don't get an error message.
Also, I have some automations that change the scenes that don't work.
Has anyone seen this problem before?

Hi fjtrevino,
Thanks for reaching out. I know how it feels when something isn’t working as it should, so let’s get this resolved. Are you getting the same message when you try your phone’s Google assistant? You can do a sequential reboot. First, unplug your Nest speakers/ displays for 30 seconds, then do the same thing to your Wi-Fi router to refresh both devices and your Wi-Fi signal.

Juni

Hi.
I finally found out what was my problem.
For some reason, several years go, I initially linked Philips Hue using my wife's Google Home account and not mine.
So, after unlinking Philips Hue from my account and linking again with my wife's account, everything went back to work as it should.
I could control all the lights and scenes properly.

Hello folks,
fjtrevino, that’s good to know. I’m glad it’s resolved now.
Danigz, MCS and samir2345. Check out the recent post by fjtrevino and try it out.

Hey, I trust you're seeing all the notes being added to this thread. Is google or Philips hue aware of the issue and doing something?
07-28-2023 01:59 AM
Same problem here. Hue scenes are gone from my automations and i cant add them back

Hi folks,
Got it. Could you all try to create a new home and move your devices there? Once done observe if scenes will appear.
Keep me posted.

Juni

Creating a new home is a waste of my time. Google needs to make a better fix since the lights worked fine before. I’m having the same issue
11-27-2023 03:08 AM
yea i had the same issue. was just after midday on the 2nd Nov Eastern Australian Time. got home and all my scenes had been deleted out of my routines then i added them again and they kept dispersing. Apparently google dose know about it and working on it now. not sure when they will have it fixed. but i keep contacting them and asking every week to push them. i have the issue now where if i have more than say 2-3 scenes from hue in one google routine it dose not activate the last lots after the 2-3 as its like time times out and gives up its seems. but for now i put a 1sec delay between the first few and last lots and yes the delay is very annoying but at least it works for now somewhat until they fix it.

Yes there is an issue that when triggering more than 2 scenes in the routine, not all succeed. This will be fixed early this week.

Do you know if there's some post or bug report for this, where one could see the status of the changes? Having over 30 lights and 9 nest screens/speakers, I would love to see that there's some actual progress on the matter 😄

I had this happen to me within the last 24 hours. I was able to get my HUE lights back in by removing and unlinking the account then re-linking it however my scenes are gone and even "Change scene to NAME" doesn't work anymore.

Hi MCS,
Thanks for reaching out. I know how it feels when something isn’t working as it should. Have you tried creating a new home and linking your Hue lights there? Give it a try and check if your scenes will appear.

Hey Juni, I tried to create a new home and link the philips hue to the new home and this did not work.
Any help would be greatly appreciate as this was working up until about 2 months ago.

Hi samir2345,
Thanks for reaching out and for trying that troubleshooting. What is the Google Home app version installed on your phone? What message are you getting when you try to control scenes using voice command?
I look forward to your response.

Juni

Yeah, not, everyone is willing to lose their scenes, especially when you have over 50 lights and bulbs with automations in your home and dozens of custom scenes. Google needs to fix this.
09-22-2023 03:36 AM
Same here; I can only control the basic light functions of my Hue lights in the home app or nest hub. Scenes are not transferred to google and can't be added.

Hi Bart2023,
Thanks for posting. Have you had a chance to try the steps provided here? Give it a try and let us know the result by updating this thread.
Thanks,
Juni

I tried reinstalling everything, home and hue app. Tried making a new home, but no change. I can control the lights in the home app but I don’t see any scenes from hue app in the home app
09-29-2023 12:09 PM
Hello Bart2023,
Thanks for trying that, and I am sorry that you are still experiencing it. Are you using Android or iOS? Is the Google Home app updated? If possible, try to use another phone to isolate it.
Best,
Juni

Same trouble here, I'm using Android 10 and seven Philips Hue bulbs linked to Google Home.
Only basic functions are available, like switch on/off.
No changing colors.
Best.

I'm having the exact same problem. Must be a recent hue or google home update.
Can't trigger scenes but can still turn lights on/off. Really annoying since many of my routines use scenes.

I’m having the same issue with scenes! It worked until maybe a couple weeks ago. The scenes disappeared from the routines. I was able to add the scenes to a routine but when I run the routine, nothing happens. Super annoying.
11-03-2023 09:01 PM
Same issue here, unable to use commands like "set living room to relax" or "set office to read". Previously these commands worked for me and would set the scene. This stopped working about a week ago, suspect an update came down that broke it.
I am however still able to turn the lights on/off, change color, dim etc.
When telling google to "resync my devices" from my phone it shows me all the scenes with an exclamation mark and says "Can't load status"
Anyone from Google support tracking this issue?

Jumping in hoping this is where google or Philips hue gets some feedback, some update broke something - voice commands for activating scenes/automations controlling scenes is not working at all.
I made a very rough workaround by changing the scenes in the automation to manual input of "activate SCENE NAME" ... Works about 80% of the time. But either way an update needs to happen to fix this! Hope it comes soon.

Same here. I wasted so much time going over the settings and the “six or more things are not available try setting them back up” is super annoying. Using latest update iOS and have about 50 Philips Hue bulbs and lights in our home.
I hope they fix this because I’ve enjoyed these two products working together to set my automation scenes for about five years now.
11-04-2023 11:53 AM
Same problem as described here! Need fix asap!
11-04-2023 12:47 PM
Still no solution on this issue….
11-04-2023 04:48 PM
Same problem since today. Scenes don't work anymore...
11-05-2023 03:05 AM
Same problem. It started a few days ago for me. Scenes are broken, but on/off type commands work.
11-05-2023 07:55 AM
I have the same problem since today. I hope for a fix soon.
11-05-2023 01:37 PM
Exact same problem since Friday for me. Clearly an update problem since so many updates to this issue have been in the past few days.
11-06-2023 04:12 AM
Experiencing the same issue with routines and scene automations broken with Google home and Philips hue. This issue started on Nov 4th.
11-06-2023 06:26 AM
I had the same problem that started recently. I was able to get some semblance of restoring service by unlinking and relinking the accounts both from within Hue account and Google account. After a few "something went wrong - please try again" attempts they finally work together for the most part. Only one thing not working as before. Previously if I said activate <scene> - it would activate that scene only in the current room. Now if I activate <scene> it activates the scene in all rooms that have that scene.
11-06-2023 06:34 AM
So unlinkee it from Google
And the essentially deleted/uninstalled the lights in hue to get them to work again?
And now google is seeing all hue lights as the same light? Haha
11-06-2023 06:28 AM
Still it definitely remains broken.
11-06-2023 03:06 PM
Can't activate scenes, works for years and now any scenes on automations are gone, even if I set it again, nothing happens...
Pixel 6 Pro, all updates made... nothing works.
11-06-2023 05:41 PM
Lifx scenes still work fine through Google home but Philips hue scenes and automations through Google home are broken. I truly expected this to be fixed by end of day. Do we know if Google is working to resolve the issue with Philips?
11-07-2023 04:15 AM
I sent a message to the mods simply asking if google or Philips knows if there is an issue. No reply.
